A Gorgeous week in Montenegro Relaxing and  Exploring. Kotor and Budva.

Meet the group at the airport and board our flight to Tivat. 

Upon arrival we will take our private transfer to our hotel in Kotor where we will be staying for 3 nights in the heart of the old town at the Kotor Nest. 

Kotor Nest in Kotor is a 4-star guest house experience within a historic building in the heart of the old town and is the perfect base for exploration with the beach just a few minutes walk away. 

Nearby attractions include the  Sea Gate, Kotor Clock Tower and Saint Sava Church.

Throughout the tour we will be staying in twin rooms but there is an option to have a room to yourself for the trip. If you wish to have a room to yourself for the 7 nights the supplement will be £270. The supplement will be payable at the same time as the balance.    

Upon arrival and check in we have a little time to relax before setting out to familiarise ourselves with Kotor on a guided walking tour.

Montenegrin food blends Mediterranean freshness with Balkan heartiness, featuring fresh seafood like grilled fish and squid ink risotto on the coast, alongside smoked meats (Njegusi prosciutto), cheeses, and hearty mountain dishes like Kačamak (cornmeal/potato porridge) and Ispod Sača (slow-cooked meat under coals) inland, with staples like Burek pastry and Palačinke (crepes) common everywhere.

This morning we will explore the stunning Boka Bay on a speedboat tour that includes breathtaking views of the famous Blue Cave and a visit to the iconic Lady of the Rocks. This tour offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. With an experienced guide we will enjoy an informative journey through the picturesque landscapes while soaking in the rich culture and history of the region. A swim stop is included as well as the use of snorkelling gear. 

Free Afternoon to do as we wish. Perhaps head to the beach or join other members for further exploration.

Today for those of us that would like to, we will take the bus to the tiny, Idyllic village of Perast. Here we can explore the historic waterfront with its baroque palaces, visit the Perast museum and stroll the charming streets. Swim in the clear waters of the bay and enjoy lunch at one of the many  waterfront restaurants.

If you prefer a bit of quiet time, relaxing on the beach, perusing the little boutiques or exploring independently, it’s totally up to you.

After checking out this morning we will take our private transfer to the Hotel Mondo in Budva which  is a short walk from the beach.

Set 7 minutes walk  from Slovenska Beach, the centrally located Hotel Mondo offers a restaurant, terrace and  bar and breakfast is included each morning.

There are many restaurants and bars close by.  

We have the afternoon to settle in and explore as we please.

Today we enjoy a full day guided tour exploring Montenegro’s cultural history to Lake Skadar, where we will  take a boat ride on the lake and go birdwatching. We will continue on to the village of Rijeka Crnojevica and take in the scenic view of the lake from Pavlova Strana.  This afternoon we will visit Cetinje, Montenegro’s former capital, and learn about its history from our guide. 

There will be a lunch stop during the day (not included)

Today is yours to spend as you choose, we can all see what we fancy doing the day before and make plans. Usually we split down into smaller groups and everyone spends the day doing exactly as they please before meeting for a delicious dinner and chatting about our day.

Some of the options are as follows. 

Behind the thick stone walls surrounding Budva Old Town we’ll find a maze of narrow alleyways connecting tiny squares with centuries-old small  treasures, explore museums housing ancient artifacts as well as the modern art gallery.

Visit the Podmaine Monastery. This Serbian Orthodox monastery from the 15th century is well worth the 30 to 40 minutes uphill walk from downtown Budva and is filled with frescos and mosaics as well as a small coffee shop. 

Sveti Nikola Island (Školj) Is  only a short boat trip or a kayak adventure away. The round trip costs €6, with many boats departing every 30 minutes from the Budva Marina (Slovenska Beach) to Hawaii Beach, on the north tip of the island.

Free day with the option to walk the seven Bay trail. A gorgeous shoreline trail visiting all of the following beaches. Sveti Stefan Beach, Kings Beach, Queens Beach,Przno Beach, Kamenovo Beach, Djevistenje Beach, Rafailovici Beach.

This morning there will be the option to join the tour leader, Kate, for a beautiful day walking the Seven Bay Trail. We will start with a short bus ride to Sveti Stefan where we can explore  and walk back along the shoreline to Budva at a relaxed pace, stopping off wherever suits us. We  can take swim stops, sit at gorgeous waterfront cafes in the bay and enjoy a leisurely lunch as we go.

This morning after checking out we will take our private transfer to the airport for our flight home.
