Breakfast is included each morning.
Throughout the tour we will be staying in twin rooms but there is an option to have a room to ourselves for our stays in Victoria Falls, Chobe and Cape Town. If you wish to have a room to yourself for these venues, the supplement for 11 nights will be £390
Please note that for the 2 nights we are staying in the Okavango Delta, due to the size of the lodges, we will be staying in twin rooms. There is no option to have a solo room here. The supplement will be payable at the same time as the balance.
What better way to start our adventure than to attend a Boma Dinner and Drum show!
We can revel in a feast of fun and savour a 4-course meal featuring local dishes, all the while enjoying non-stop entertainment. What a start to our African adventure!
Today we thought we’d start slowly after our long flight and exciting evening so we can enjoy a leisurely breakfast and do exactly what we need before we head out to experience the Mosi-oa-Tunya, Victoria Falls on a private, guided tour.
Get ready to be utterly spellbound by the thunderous majesty of Victoria Falls! On our private walking tour, we’ll experience one of the world’s most magnificent natural wonders entirely at our own effortless pace. We will be picked up right from our hotel, leaving you free to soak in every moment as our expert local guide brings this legendary UNESCO World Heritage Site to life—sharing incredible stories of local traditions, vibrant wildlife, and rich history along the way. You know they will have scouted the absolute best vantage points so we can capture those unforgettable, frame-worthy photos (and don’t worry, they provide raincoats for when the falls decide to show off their famous, refreshing spray!). We will discover the true heart of the falls —it’s going to be a journey that I am sure we will be talking about for years to come.
A Quick Note for our Trip:
- Park Entrance Fee: $50 per person (payable in cash on the day).
This evening we will embark and undoubtedly enjoy an unforgettable evening on the mighty Zambezi, where the magic of the African wild truly comes alive. As the sun begins to dip, we will glide through a pristine wildlife paradise, watching the sky transform into a dazzling canvas of rich gold, fiery crimson, and soft violet. Surrounded by the gentle sounds of nature and stunning views of one of the World’s Seven Natural Wonders, and we’ll dine on a delicious, unique four-course dinner. I am sure we will raise a glass, savour every incredible flavour, and let the gentle rhythm of the river drift us through an enchanting, sun-drenched evening which we will never forget.
Hotel pick up and drop off are included.
Today we wanted to give everyone the opportunity to catch their breath and choose exactly how they wish to spend their time and maybe, if you have carried out some research you know exactly how you plan to make the memories you want but for those who welcome a little inspiration:
For the adventurous, adrenalin junkees , there is the opportunity to zip line, bungee jump or climb aboard a swing from the bridge over the falls.
For those who seek adventure in a more relaxed way, perhaps you’ll choose a tour to Livingstone Island and a dip in the Devils Pool, or perhaps a visit to a Zimbabwe traditional village. Maybe these options are far more appealing to you..
Of course, you could also choose to recharge your batteries by chilling and strolling locally so you are ready for our next adventure in search of wildlife.
Tonight we will enjoy dinner al fresco with a true taste of Zimbabwean cuisine featuring hearty stews slow cooked to perfection in traditional potjie pots.
(vegetarian options are available)
We can take in our lasting memories of Victoria Falls as we sit perched on the Zambezi River with itala palm trees and cascading manicured lawns surrounding us at The Eatery at the Pure Africa Waterfront which offers a mesmerising dining location under the star-studded sky, truly a night to remember.
For the next 2 nights our home will be Sunbird Lodge, a hidden oasis in the heart of Kasane and just 10km from the renowned Chobe National Park. Nestled within a lush garden, teeming with vibrant birdlife, the boutique lodge offers a tranquil retreat where nature and comfort combine, it really is a destination that connects you to the beauty of South Africa.
Sunbirds Lodge was built by a female citizen of Botswana, known in the community over many years as Mma Ledombi. The reason for specifically mentioning this is because today Mma Ledombi creates employment for vulnerable women, over 90% of the staff here are women. She pays school fees for all employees, and hosts an annual Christmas lunch for vulnerable children in the community so by staying here, we are supporting a true female citizen-owned business that puts vulnerable Botswana women first and gives back to the community.
After checking in, we can take some time to relax or wander the gardens until we head out on a magical sunset cruise, an opportunity to experience the tranquil beauty and thriving wildlife of the Chobe River. We will have a chance to see some of Africa’s most iconic animals from a unique vantage point as we glide along the calm waters, perhaps encounters with elephants, hippos and crocodiles. Bird enthusiasts may be rewarded with sightings of sea eagles or kingfishers. Undoubtedly, another night to remember.
Today we head out early and drive into Chobe National Park, renowned as one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, so a safari here likely promises encounters with vast herds of elephants, majestic lions and elusive leopards (we hope) all safely guided by knowledgeable and experienced guides who provide insights into complex ecosystems and animal behaviours. Every journey through the savannah or along the riverbank is uniquely thrilling, so if you are seeking to connect with nature in its most untouched form, this is the day for you.
Today we will leave Sunbirds Lodge and head to Kasane Airport for our flight to Maun, the gateway to the unique Okavango Delta.
Nestled on the tranquil banks of the Thamalakane River, our three-night stay will be at Thamalakane River Lodge which offers the perfect blend of comfort and natural beauty. Just a short drive from Maun, this peaceful retreat features stone-and-thatch chalets – Babblers – tucked under shady trees, each with idyllic views over the water. Whether you’re relaxing by the pool, watching local birdlife along the riverbank, or enjoying fresh meals as the sun sets over the water, it’s a wonderful place to unwind and experience the effortless charm of Botswana.
Our first night at Thamalakane River Lodge sets a wonderfully relaxed tone, as we unwind in our stone-and-thatch chalets and enjoy dinner by the water while the sun sets over the river. Idyllic.
Today will largely be spent on the water, enjoying one of the most serene cultural experiences of our tour: a journey in a traditional mokoro. We can expect a peaceful, low-to-the-water glide through tranquil lily-filled channels as a local poler navigates past colorful birdlife and into the heart of the Okavango Delta. Our day combines this gentle morning trip with a guided bush walk, followed by a relaxing picnic lunch in the shade before we pole back as the afternoon light softens across the water.
Tonight, we will dine al fresco once again back at our lodge.
Today we will be rising early to head out for an unforgettable full-day game drive into the iconic Moremi Game Reserve, widely celebrated as one of Africa’s finest wildlife havens. Guided by expert trackers in an open 4×4 safari vehicle, we will explore a rich tapestry of floodplains, lagoons, and mopane woodlands while searching for the Big Five, wild dogs, and an incredible array of birdlife. Complete with a scenic bush lunch surrounded by nature, it’s an immersive, action-packed day of world-class game viewing before returning to the lodge to relax by the water.
This morning we will, sadly I am sure, check out of Thamalakane Lodge and take our private transfer to Maun airport for our flight to Cape Town, South Africa where we will be spending 5 wonderful nights at our boutique hotel the Old Foundry Hotel by Ideas Cartel which is situated in a fabulous location just a short walk from the beautiful Victoria & Alfred Waterfront where no doubt we shall dine at least a night or two…
This evening we shall set sail on a luxury catamaran and sip on a glass of bubbly whilst we gaze, mesmerised, at the most beautiful scenery of Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles. There could also be a chance to spot some of the incredible marine life that Cape Town has to offer such as Dolphins, Wales, Seals, Penguins and Sun Fish. The perfect way to start our time in this beautiful, vibrant city.
Today we will be picked up from our hotel and join a small, luxury Cape Town day tour. We will explore the vibrant area of Bo-Kaap, ride the Table Mountain cable car (weather permitting), visit Cape Point, see the Boulders Beach penguins, and visit Chapman’s Peak Drive. Just imagine, the absolute best of Cape Town, checking off virtually every iconic bucket-list spot in one unforgettable luxury day tMoira’s view from the top of Table Mountain last time the group were there.
A quick note for our trip:
Table Mountain Cableway ticket R490.00 adult
Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve entrance R515.00 adult
Boulders Beach Penguin Colony ticket R245.00 adult (should you wish to enter)
Cape Point Funicular ride R105.00 adult (should you wish not to walk)
Today we have deliberately left free for you to choose exactly how you wish to spend it. Maybe you will want to continue exploring with a possible visit to Robben Island and have yourself a guided Prison Tour including a visit to the prison cell of Nelson Mandela and take the Long Walk to freedom.
Perhaps you will choose to take a tour and explore District Six, where 60,000 inhabitants were forcibly removed during the 1970s by the apartheid regime. A tour where you can learn about life during apartheid on a walking tour of the hostels and shacks. Visit a shebeen (pub), try some homemade beer, and see a traditional healer in action. What an experience that will undoubtedly be.
Maybe you will choose to buy yourself a hop on /off bus ticket which gives you a safe, reliable and easy way to get about and see so much more With multiple routes covering the city, mountains, and coast, you can hop on and off as often as you like, allowing you to tailor your adventure to your interests. Visit world-famous sights like Camps Bay, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, and the historic District Six. Whether you’re in the mood for beaches, culture, nature, or food – there’s a stop for you! There’s even the option to select a Harbour Cruise & Sunset bus tour.
Or, how about a Malaly Cooking Class? You could join a local chef in their home in Bo-Kaap – the area with the beautiful, colourful houses – and learn how to create delicious Malay cuisine and then enjoy a delicious lunch of the food that you have learned how to prepare and create.
However you choose to spend your day, there will be the opportunity to gather together for dinner locally and share our experiences.
Today is going to be an early start as we will be picked up from our hotel to spend the day in the renowned wine region of South Africa. Visiting Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl, sampling and pairing wine. A wine lover’s dream I would say but it’s not all about the wine, Franschoek is one of the oldest towns in South Africa. It has centuries of old vineyards and Cape Dutch Architecture. This town is also known to be the heart for food and wine in the country. It is also situated in one of the most beautiful wine valleys in the world.
We will also stop at the small but vibrant town of Stellenbosch, the second-oldest colonial settlement in South Africa. The surrounding region is renowned for producing a wide variety of fine wines, including Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, Pinotage, and Méthode Cap Classique sparkling wines. As you explore, you’ll admire stunning Cape Dutch architecture, historic water furrows, and majestic oak trees over 300 years old, all evoking a nostalgic sense of a bygone era. Dorp Street, for instance, boasts the longest row of historic buildings in the Southern Hemisphere.
Definitely something for everyone on this glorious, full day tour.
Dinner will be arranged locally
Today is our last full day in this incredible part of the world. Cape Town is a city of captivating contrasts—a place where dramatic mountain ranges plunge straight into two surging oceans, and vibrant urban energy seamlessly blends with laid-back coastal charm. Hugged by the iconic silhouette of Table Mountain, the ‘Mother City’ boasts a rich tapestry of cultures, world-class culinary scenes, colourful historic neighbourhoods, and sweeping sun-drenched beaches. We hope you will have fallen in love with at least some if not all of it and so you choose how you wish to spend this last day, creating the most perfect, lasting moments for yourself.
What a journey it’s been! Tonight, we shall gather together for one final, memorable evening to toast an incredible adventure across Southern Africa. From the thunderous majesty of Victoria Falls and the wildlife-rich waters of Chobe, to the tranquil wilderness of the Okavango Delta and the vibrant, mountain-framed shores of Cape Town, we have shared bucket-list moments that few get to experience. Over a wonderful farewell dinner, we can swap our favourite photos, relive our funniest stories, and celebrate the unforgettable memories and maybe even, some lifelong friendships forged along the way.
