The Travel Buddies trips work on the basis that as long as you are having a good time then that is what matters, if you don’t feel like coming on one of the excursions or joining the rest of the group for dinner one evening then that is absolutely fine. This is an adventure for everyone and there is nothing worse than having to go somewhere/do something that you don’t really fancy!
Feel free to do as much or as little research as you like, some members will know what they would like to visit as soon as they book the trip, Others will just turn up at the airport and have not researched at all. Either is absolutely fine. We all have different ideas as to what constitutes a great time away!
After checking in we will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
This morning after breakfast we have free time to enjoy the sights of Bologna before embarking on the Best foodie tour ever! After all, Bologna is the gastronomique capital of Italy
Let’s visit……
Quadrilatro, the old world market district with narrow alleyways filled with character.
The Due Torres, the two towers, commonly recognised as the symbols of Bologna.
The Museo Del Palazzo Poggi to see some rather unusual exhibits!
And… find La Finestrella, the window to a beautiful view of the canal.

Experience Bologna like a local with this unforgettable culinary adventure!
Discover hidden gems known only to locals and immerse yourself in the authentic rhythm of Bolognese life. This experience recreates the classic outings we enjoy with friends and family, offering over 15 tastings of the finest local food and wine.

We’ll begin with Tigella, a versatile and iconic dish served as a pre-aperitivo, followed by a variety of cold cuts, cheeses, and bread from the Bologna area, paired with local wines at the city’s oldest osteria. Strolling through the historic center, you’ll enjoy two beloved homemade pastas—Tortellini and Tagliatelle—at a traditional Osteria Bolognese, perfectly complemented by more local wine.

To conclude, we’ll visit the best gelateria in town for an unforgettable gelato. This is your chance to eat, drink, and experience Bologna’s culinary traditions like a true local!
After a leisurely breakfast and check out we will take the train to Pistoia, in the heart of the Tuscan Countryside.
Our gorgeous villa awaits in the rolling Tuscan countryside where we will be staying for 5 nights.
Set at the foot of the hills, Hotel Villa Cappugi has a pretty setting in the Tuscan countryside, 3 km from the historical centre of Pistoia. It offers a summer swimming pool, tennis court , fitness centre and outdoor bar

Breakfast at Villa Cappugi is a hot buffet, including fresh fruit, cakes and homemade jam tarts. Savoury options include cold cuts and cheeses.
The Collegigliato Restaurant is set in the villa opposite the hotel and offers a modern take on typical Tuscan dishes.
This hotel offers a free shuttle service from/to Pistoia and Pistoia Train Station which can be booked at the hotel.
There is to explore in the area if you feel that way inclined, or grab a sunbed and relax!
