We have planned quite a voyage, spending time discovering Helsinki’s unique blend of sophisticated design, vibrant urban life, and serene coastal beauty. What a start to our Nordic experience.
And then, a completely different vibe as we step back in time and wander Tallinn’s wonderfully preserved medieval Old Town, a really charming UNESCO gem just a short ferry ride across the Baltic Sea.
Finally, and the only fitting way to end a phenomenal adventure, we shall
drift into dreams aboard an overnight train as we journey deep into the Arctic wilderness – crossing the Artic Circle no less – waking to immerse ourselves in the serene tranquillity and natural beauty of the Vaattunki Wilderness Resort. Such diverse and captivating scenery, pure bliss, natural and stunning.
Itinerary
Meet at the airport and board our flight to Helsinki.
Upon our arrival at Helsinki airport we will transfer to our hotel. We will be able to check in and have the evening to relax. Throughout the tour we will be staying in twin rooms but there is an option to have a room to yourself for the trip. If you wish to have a room to yourself for 5 of the 6 nights the supplement will be £255
(Please note that there is no option to have a room to yourself on the Santa Claus Express overnight train)
The mesmerising Finnish capitals compact size and amazingly efficient public transport system make it perfect for unforgettable sightseeing.
Recently named the Design Capital of the World, Helsinki is packed full of unique culture, cuisine and architectural beauty. Visit the Design District – 200 buildings spread across 25 streets, serving up the city’s very best creative showpieces like the Design Museum, Museum of Finnish Architecture and artisan shops.
Feast your eyes on a plethora of exotic flora at the Helsinki City Winter Garden and sample the city’s culinary delights.
For the next 3 nights we are staying at the gorgeous 4* Klaus K Hotel which is in a central location and perfect for exploring the city.

There is a bar and a restaurant and also free use of the gym.A delicious breakfast is included each morning.

After breakfast this morning we will enjoy a winter season sightseeing tour of Helsinki by bus, and get a wide variety of information about Helsinki and hear fascinating stories about the city and the archipelago with the on board audio guide.
Next, see Helsinki and Finland like never before: experience the Finnish nature and all the city’s landmarks and sights via an amazing 5D cinema tour. ( please note that this tour is not suitable for people with back problems or pregnant ladies)
This afternoon is free to explore at leisure.
Dinner Locally.

Estonia’s capital, Tallinn, lies across the Gulf of Finland from Helsinki: And we will take a day trip by ferry to experience its medieval charms, delve into the UNESCO-listed Old Town and enjoy the museums, shops, and restaurants.
Our return Tickets include entry on board and seating. We can spend your time on board visiting one of the restaurants, shopping at the Traveller Superstore, or enjoying the scenery of the archipelago passing by.
It is about a 20-minute walk from the Tallinn terminal to the old town, where we have approximately 6.5 hours to explore and enjoy before returning on the evening ferry.

Today after a relaxing breakfast and checking out of the hotel we can store our luggage and have the whole day to explore the city before taking the Santa Claus Express overnight train to Rovaniemi.
Some of the city highlights are as follows:
Reachable by a short ferry ride lies *Suomenlinna, the ‘fortress of Finland’, which straddles a cluster of car-free islands connected by bridges.

This Unesco World Heritage site was originally built by the Swedes, as Sveaborg, in the mid-18th century. Visually striking and historically evocative, it offers at least a day’s diversions: several museums, bunkers and fortress walls, and Finland’s only remaining WWII submarine.
Alongside a good variety of other museums and galleries is The National Museum of Finland – A museum presenting Finnish history from the Stone Age to the present day, through objects and cultural history.
Helsinki Cathedral. A beautiful and iconic landmark located in the heart of the Finnish capital. With its distinctive neoclassical architecture, stunning white façade, and towering green domes, the cathedral has become a symbol of Helsinki and a must-see destination for visitors from around the world.
Sibelius Monument. The world famous composer Jean Sibelius’ (1865-1957) monument by Eila Hiltunen is located at the Sibelius park. It was unveiled on 7 September 1967. The Sibelius Monument, resembling organ pipes, is made of welded steel with over 600 pipes and with the bust of the composer on one side.

Now for the next part of the adventure!!!!
The unique Finnish nature awaits us and invites us to experience the magic of winter in Lapland. The Santa train takes us to the arctic circle and the Finnish winter wonderland.

Hello Finnish Lapland! Breakfast will be delivered to us in our cabins and soon after the train will pull into the station for us to take our transfer to the Vaattunki Wilderness Resort where we are spending the next 2 nights on a full board basis.
Surrounded by beautiful rapids of the river Raudanjoki and the lush forest, the 4*Vaattunki Wilderness Resort has been providing an escape into the heart of Lapland’s breathtaking wilderness for many years.
All 25 huts are made of local pine wood and represent the modern Lappish architecture.
Each hut has a full-size panorama window with the view to the peaceful forest which you can admire straight from the comfort of your own bed.

The main restaurant building, where we will enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner riverside walks, the husky kennels and a reindeer farm are within a short walking distance from the huts.


Meals will be enjoyed in the above cosy cabin restaurant and are all included.
RIVERSIDE SAUNA/JACUZZI EXPERIENCES- The riverside sauna overlooks the never-freezing river rapids and calming natural forest. Sauna and jacuzzi slots are bookable at the reception.

There are a whole host of activities to be enjoyed here.
Reindeer farm visits and husky Safaris as well as Ice fishing, Snowmobiling and Northern lights spotting are possible and we will be in touch prior to the trip with all of the information about these tours so that you can take a look and see what activities you would like to add, if any. (please note that some of the activities need a minimum of 2 participants).

Snowshoes are also available to rent and many walks can be enjoyed in the surrounding area of the hotel .
